#NorthVan365 Day 22
If you’re looking for a flavourful and refreshing glass of craft beer, look no further. The Green Leaf Brewing Co. located inside the Lonsdale Quay Market is another North Vancouver hidden gem, now boasting a new outdoor patio.
Pushing the boundaries of craft beer, Green Leaf produces some innovative new brews along with a wide selection of classic brews for the traditionalists in the house. Their friendly service shines and the environment of Green Leaf is a very enjoyable place to spend an afternoon in North Vancouver. So come on down to fill up your growler or enjoy a flight of their latest brews. If they’re not too busy serving they also offer brewery tours.
If you’re crossing over from downtown Vancouver on the Seabus, head straight to the market entrance near the water and you’ll find Green Leaf. Keep your eyes peeled for several locals enjoying a pint on the outdoor patio, you can’t miss it!
If you arrive at the street entrance, head straight to the far Southwest corner on the ground floor to find Green Leaf.
Don’t miss out on the most delicious beer North Vancouver has to offer.
#NorthVan365 Day 16.
The Lonsdale Quay market in North Vancouver is one of the best locations on the North Shore to find a huge variety of delicious foods! It also has one of the nicest outdoor patios too. So on the next sunny day or any day rather why not head over to The Quay as locals would call it and have lunch on the outdoor patio.
The view from the outdoor patio at the Lonsdale Quay
You’ll find the majority of food shops on the ground floor all throughout the market. Stop by the Soup Meister to see what the daily specials are. They’ve always got something delicious cooking and have recently expanded due to their popularity. Next door is COBS Bread, you’re bound to find something tasty there!
Still feeling like breakfast? The All Day Cafe at the South end of the Market serves breakfast all day along with some amazing specialty coffees! If you’re in the mood for fresh fruits or a smoothie head over to Jimmy’s Fruit and Juice Bar or Frux Frozen Organic Yogurt for a frozen yogurt.
If you’re in an adventurous mood there are several International food shops to try out with delicacies from all over the world. George’s Souvlaki is always a favourite as well as Cilantro & Jalapeno Mexican food, Montgomery’s Fish and Chips and much more.
Thirsty for a cold beer? Make your way over to Green Leaf Brewing Co. for some local craft brews or head upstairs to the Cheshire Cheese restaurant if you’re looking for seated table service.
After you’ve found a spot to relax in the sun and eat your favourite meal why not head back inside and bring home some great local produce from Kin’s Farm Market, fresh meats from Sharky’s Chophouse, fresh seafood from the Salmon Shop and spices from Pepperpot Food and Spice.
There’s definitely something for everyone here at the Lonsdale Quay. Come and find your favourite foods now!
#NorthVan365 Day 14.
There’s so much to do and so much to see at the Shipyards Friday Night Market. Located at the foot of Lonsdale, the outdoor market provides fun and entertainment for everyone. Wander through the stalls to find artisan handicrafts like photos, paintings and jewelry. Grab a beer at the Beer and Wine Garden while listening to great bands play on the stage. Shop for farm fresh veggies, organic meat or wonderful baked goods.
Eat your way through “Hot Food Alley” (over fifteen food trucks) or grab some snacks from the other food stalls. Given the huge variety of trucks, it’s hard to settle on just one. If you can only go to one truck, make sure you check out Chou Chou Crepes www.chouchoucrepes.com for a Chou Chou Crepe filled with her own homemade caramel. She’s worth seeking out so I follow her on twitter to make sure she’ll be there.
They Shipyards Market opens May 1st this year and goes until September 25th. Visit www.northshoregreenmarket.com for more information.

The Crab Shop in North Vancouver serves what is quite possibly the best Fish and Chips in the city. Not only that but they offer the freshest crab and seafood too! If you haven’t been there already you should definitely make a trip out to this little gem just off of Dollarton Highway on the way to Deep Cove. The staff is very friendly and while the food can take a while to prepare it’s worth the wait! This is mainly due to the volume of orders that come in, they’re very busy.
There is limited seating inside the shop but that’s ok as most visitors who come through are ordering takeout and are on there way as soon as it’s ready. If you want to explore the area a little more, ordering takeout fish and chips is a great idea. They will wrap up your order nicely to keep it warm until you reach your final destination. I recommend driving a little further down Dollarton Highway and stopping at Cate’s Park for a picnic.
